Eastern Washington, that is. It’s the dry side of the mountains but the whole thing is not a damn desert like some from Pugetopolis seem to think. Took a drive up above the lodge where we got married. I didn’t get a good shot from up top but here’s the view from half way:

Kinja'd!!!

And one that is from the top, but not of the view. Instead I got a shot of the DD and the top of the chair lift that the ski resort uses in winter for reasons that escape me right now.

Kinja'd!!!

We saw an S2000 up there as well as quite a few motorcycles. My original plan was to take a logging road off somewhere but we ended up staying on pavement so we really should have taken my wife’s Infiniti.

I drove from Joseph, OR, to Spokane a few days ago. Absolutely beautful. Very surreal.

This is such a beautiful fucking state. Up north you really get some hauntingly-beautiful scenery.

Yeah, Spokane sits right between to different regions. The open farmland to the south and west and the mountains and forests to the north and east. People who never get off the interstate think it’s only the former and never see the latter.

Yep. I’ve now driven from Leavenworth to Spokane (worst drive of my life) and from Wallowa Lake to Spokane (very pleasant drive). Driving east from Spokane into Idaho amd Montana is a great drive. Spokane suck tho.

Huckleberry’s are ripe! I bet you could have found some around 4000-4500 feet.

We kept our eyes open but they aren’t quite ready yet where we were. Soon, though, very soon and then we will be hunting some purple gold.

They are ripe here in Montana. Going picking in the morning.

Jealous! I’d love to have some huckleberry goodness right now. Our problem is that when they do ripen we have to beat the commercial pickers to the areas that are more easily accessed since they strip everything off the bushes.

Nice. Now maybe some of the hordes of new arrivals will move east of the mountains. Spokane housing prices need a boost of Californicator/offshore black money speculation like those enjoyed on the west side.

Spokane, WA. Specifically Mt. Spokane which is 30 minutes north of the city.
